Environment and sustainability

Designing better products is easy, minimising environmental impact should be the default setting, not something a company ‘works towards’.

Could I look David Attenborough in the eye?

In the search for ideal materials for Forzuna’s products, I found that it didn’t affect the ‘bottom line’ too much if you did take a few extra months searching for environmentally-considerate options.

An unexpected benefit of this drive for sustainability, is that it attracted suppliers and component manufacturing companies, run by people who care.

I really, really hate waste of resources, when crafting the shapes and moulding processes used in production, I make sure every part can be tessellated, flipped or mirrored to get the most from the raw material.

EXAMPLE:

The Yo-Go’s tyres reduce manufacturing steps from 7, down to 2 (compared to conventional tyres). The number of materials used in each tyre is reduced from around 5, down to 1, which means while others’ tyres end up in landfill, ours are 100% recyclable.
